Actually, if you have any suggestions for something to do on the 17th or 19th (or possibly 18th because it looks like this is not certain) please get in touch with me. On the 16th and 17th there is a huge festival in Latvia with a lot of experimental things, but I think I am a bit late in trying to get added to that…also if anyone has any ideas for something in Lithuania or nothern Poland for the 19th, that would be great. I had something in Lithuania on the 19th originally but it was cancelled because there is a very big basketball tournament.

Slightly More Informatio:

Glasgow:

CORE OF THE COALMAN
US/Czech Republic
“An exhumed abomination lurches forward, closing distance with a swiftness that locks your knees. Seizing your gut, a darkened face fills your mind. He’s come in through your ears! The bestial throat, frenetic viola abuse, sickening sines of the Volterra Infrasound Mirror-Image Processor haul you out to land’s end of Reason… the edge and abyss of Nature’s indifference. Jorge Boehringer’s music sends the mind on errands of uncanny, personal dread. Super fun!”

LEA CUMMINGS
Revelations from the new silence by the man behind the mask of Minoise. First ever live performance of the more recent approach?
http://www.kovoroxsound.com/

BOOM EDAN WITH HELP
New planet jazz for the catatonic cocktail bar. He has not travelled far. On piano, Mr Alec Cheer.

Edinburgh:

winners don’t shiver…….

FEINE TRINKERS BEI PINKELS DAHEIM
Mind back in 1991, when that rave got cancelled so a bunch of us gate-crashed that science lesson and danced our tits off for two days solid?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nOye_6Fkpc

CORE OF THE COALMAN
Mesmeric solo viola violation and pedal probing from various bits of the US via Prague.

MARVO MEN
East and west’s heavyweight drivel dribblers Euan Muscletusk and Ben Helhesten go napper to noggin.

SCRIM
“A loop-based mong ritual … like the soundtrack to a film about depressed goats”
…at Superclub …on Friday 2nd September …

Manchester:

Golden Lab Records and Total Vermin present…
CORE OF THE COALMAN
(I think you have heard enough about me today)

HOBO SONN
Brighton resident and former hip-hop producer Ian Murphy sculpts an exquisitely atmospheric drone from his Akai; like a swan carved from concrete, brought to life and swooping around the cathedral. One of the finest ‘noise’ proponents operating in the UK, with a unique take on the drone that it is psychedelic and engagingly nuanced.

SERFS
Serfs is the all too seldomly seen duo of Jon Collin and Tom Settle, the best Manchester band of the last however-many years. The playing seems to fall between John Fahey, Loren Conners, The Dead C and Crazy Horse, while remaining far enough from all points to inhabit a space all of its own, and can contort itself into many shapes; from lugubrious drone through avant-folk and wild psych to Chicago Soul.

CABBAGE ROSETTE
A new duo of Stuart Arnot and Luke Hall, seen previously performing as a trio with Phil Minton in London’s Cafe Oto. Expect mong-mouthed sound poetry, spiced up with dysfunctional tape noise and electronics.

London:

Family Elan is amazing, just google them…

Hobo Sonn is mysterious, and something like an old piece of hollow resonant wood soldered to the score of Ligeti’s 16 voice Lux Aeterna, in the manner of a cross modulation system.  He has participated in many musical formulations there including Gryn Brvs, the Bolide Awkestra and Splinter Group, and has recordings published by Foxy Digitalis and Chocolate Monk among others, and goes by the name of Ian Murphy when at home in Brighton, England. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHWmUOlV2yQ&feature=related
(which completely changes atmosphere every two minutes, and yet uses the barest economy of means.
also, sometimes its funny)

about:

Core of the Coalman(US/CZ), the solo project of sound artist Jorge Boehringer, consists of continuity and discontinuity for viola, voice and circuits on the border between order and chaos. Sonically diverse and at times explosive in texture, Core of the Coalman emphasizes the physicality of sound in its synesthetic relationships between ear, brain, and environment. Performances involve feedback-driven yodel triggers, descending tympanic pressures implying sexual interface, and extended upwardly-mobile Carnasitic arrays, with ornaments, and have been featured on all kinds of concert and children’s lunchtime programs.

Boehringer and his solo project accidentally moved from Oakland, California to Prague, Czech Republic four years ago, and since then he has released several recordings among them: Aggregate and Crackle (Chocolate Monk, UK), Symmetrical Cavepeople (Insect, CZ), You’ll Need A Catapult (KlangundKrach, CZ), Box of the Last Help (Zum, US), Affinity Groups (self-released), Precambrian Figures (Unverified, UK) and numerous tapes and other items. He teaches sound, experimental and interactive media, and art studio at Prague College, where he also moderates the Experimental Arts Reseach Lab (EARL) a clearinghouse for crazy people with soldering irons and noisy ideas.
